Darlene (Embry) Tomes

Darlene Tomes, 84, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  She was born in Grayson Co., Ky. on January 24, 1935 to the late Marcus and Nettie Embry.  Darlene was a lifelong member of Christian Home Church of Christ.  Darlene had several businesses in Morgantown through the years and she enjoyed horseback riding. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Thorston Tomes.

Darlene is survived by her daughter Veronica Keown (Timmy) of Morgantown; son Miles Tomes (Wilma) of Morgantown; grandchildren Pam Phelps (Brandon) of Morgantown, Kim Elms (Joey) of Bowling Green, Jon Keown (Tiffany) of Morgantown, Daniel Tomes (Jennifer) of Morgantown; great grandchildren include Alexis Crump (Michael) of Greenville, Brinley Keown of Morgantown, Kloe & Kade Elms of Bowling Green, Anna Claire and Alex Phelps of Morgantown; Bailey and Jonah Tomes of Morgantown; one great great grandchild Everly Crump of Greenville.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 4pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Nick Greenman officiating.  Visitation will begin on Saturday, April 20 from 10am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
