Robert (Bob) Burden

Robert "Bob" Burden of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.  Bob was the last boys basketball Coach of Kittrell High School, where he had numerous wins and the greatest days of his coaching career.  He graduated from Butler County High School in 1957 and from Middle Tennessee State College in 1961.  He played basketball for both schools and loved to play golf.  Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Morgantown.  He was preceded in death by his parents Atlas and Euva Embry Burden; brothers Darrell and Vick Burden and sister Loretta Tracy; brother in law Buddy Harrell.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Jane Bell Burden, formerly of Kittrell; brothers Raymond Burden and wife Cilicia of Morgantown, Dale Burden and wife Mary of Bowling Green, Randy Burden and wife Polly of Bowling Green; sisters Sue Burden and Patty Burden Carr and husband Rick all of Morgantown; sister in law Rebecca Harrell of Murfreesboro, Tn. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Neilson officiating.  Burial will follow in Hill Haven Memory Gardens in Morgantown, Ky. Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 2 from 3-8pm and Saturday from 10am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
