Betty Frances Davis Hammers, age 88, of Rochester, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Southern Kentucky Hospice House in Bowling Green. She was born in Evansville, IN on Sept. 18, 1933 to the late Richard and Mattie Coleman Davis. Betty was a member of New Midway Church and a longtime treasurer of the Rochester Cemetery. She retired from the Butler Co. School System, where she was a secretary at Third District School for many years. Betty was an avid UK fan, of all sports, she loved to cross stitch and made many beautiful quilts. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Carson Hammers; sons Monte and Timmy Hammers; sisters Rose Horn and Gertrude Scott; brothers John, Richard and James Davis.
Betty is survived by her brother Jack Davis (Candy) of Evansville, IN; nieces, nephews and many special friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rochester Cemetery Association, PO Box 146, Rochester, Ky. 42273.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Oct. 22 at 1pm at Smith Funeral Home with Shane Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Rochester Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 22 from 10am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
