Betty (Rearden) Hoover

Betty Rearden Hoover, age 91, of Hartford, KY passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025 at her residence.  She was born in Hartford, KY on Apr. 28, 1934.  Betty was a member of Clear Run Church but attended Mount Moriah Church with her husband, who was a member.  She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hoover; son Steven Hoover; parents Elmer and Eva Lake Rearden; three sisters Shirley Jean Rearden, Anna Lee Smith and Lena Smiley; one brother Michael Rearden. 

Betty is survived by two brothers E.J. Rearden of Owensboro, KY and Paul Rearden of Hartford, KY; two sisters Earlene Haynes (Johnny) of Columbus, GA and Lydia Phelps (Chester) of Owensboro, KY; daughter Debra Clawson (Ray) of Thorntown, IN; three grandchildren Sarah Stacy, whom Tommy and Betty raised, Amanda Gray and Jessica Thomas; eight great-grandchildren Trevor Scoggins, Trinity Scoggins, Kody Scoggins, Mason Embry, Hunter Kerr, Skyler Kerr, Emma Tinsley and Brennan Thomas; one great-great grandchild Rosalie Kerr and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Clear Run Cemetery with Bro. Tim Smith officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
