Betty Joan (McIntosh) Phelps

Betty Joan McIntosh Phelps, age 80, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tn.  She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Apr. 10, 1942 to the late Zelma Henry and Doolia Martin McIntosh.  She was a member of Shiloh Church of Christ, a homemaker and a retired nurse. Betty enjoyed reading, fishing on the river with her husband and family, knitting and crocheting.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry Phelps; daughter Teresa Phelps; son Damon Phelps and infant brother; son-in-law Marion Lewellyn.

Betty is survived by her children Laquita Renfrow (Faron), Kevin Phelps (Darlene), Cindy Lewellyn (Mark); Vanessa Shepherd (Willie); daughter-in-law Emma Phelps; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 9 great- great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Nancy Phelps, Pat Cross (Denny), Dorothy Britt and Janet Lewellyn (Don).

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Woody Moore officiating.  Burial will be held in the Shiloh Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16 from 3pm – 8pm and Friday, March 17 from 9am – 2pm at Smith Funeral Home.
