Charles "Richard" Hendricks Obituary

Charles Richard Hendricks, age 83, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.  He was born on Nov. 3, 1941 on Church St. in Bowling Green, KY and was the eldest son of four children.  He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Helen Carter Hendricks and two brothers Neil and Tim Hendricks.  Richard joined the Navy when he was 18 and graduated from the United States Armed Forces Institute in Des Moines, IA.  He also earned several college hours there, which later transferred into his college work.  Richard graduated from Freed Hardeman College in 1969.  After that he started his preaching career, which lasted 45 years.  During this time he worked with several churches of Christ and mission work in India.  In 1984 he was invited to be on the advisory board of Freed Hardeman College.  His last tenure of church work was with the Green Valley Church of Christ in Butler Co., KY and he preached there for 18 years.  His statement to remember is: “Remember Jesus loves you and we do too!”

Richard is survived by his long-time companion, Faustina Tarter; three children Bryon Hendricks, Sherri Rathbun (Mark) and Chonda White (Keith); the mother of his children Carol Hendricks; a sister Vivian Coulter (Bobby); four grandchildren Colton and Canaan Rathbun and Savannah and Summer White; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
