Delois "Dee" (Felty) Dockery

Delois “Dee” Dockery, 89, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at her residence.   She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on December 18, 1931.  She was a member of Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at Kane’s Manufacturing and Kellwood for over 50 years. She was a gifted seamstress her whole life and continued to sew up until last year.  She loved to travel and was her own entrepreneur. Delois also loved to spend time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Clayton Felty and Rita Embry Felty; infant son Terry Lynn Embry; granddaughter Monica Renee Embry; sister Esther Givens; three brothers Roy, Chelsie and Dallas Felty; husband Rev. James H. Embry, husband Harold Renfrow; son in law Keith Vincent; daughter in law Stacey Embry; stepdaughter Kathy Ferguson.

Delois is survived by her husband Clayton Dockery of Morgantown; five children Mack Embry (Gay) of Morgantown, Maxine Childress (Dudley) of Morgantown, Gary Embry of Beaver Dam, Ky.,  Ramona House (Terrell) of Morgantown, Elaine Vincent of  Quality, Ky; three step daughters Marilyn Smith (Darnel) of Louisville, Ky., Pauletta Howard (Jeff) of  Louisville, Ky. Lesa Schoenbachler (Pete Allison) of Louisville, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; four sisters Devois Embry (Paul) of Owensboro, Ky., Blanche Embry (Herb) of Ready, Ky., Genevieve Embry of Morgantown, Norma Jean Cardwell (Ronnie) of Louisville, Ky.; brothers Ross Felty (Jean) of Morgantown and Raven Felty (Delinda) of Paint Lick, Ky.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 11am at Smith Funeral Home with Delois’ grandson Bro. Lawson Embry and Bro. Jesse Stivers officiating.   Burial will follow in the Chapel Union Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Chad Embry, Coty Embry, Russell Childress, Logan Embry, Ethan Vincent and Josh DeBerry. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2 from 11am until 8pm and Saturday from 8am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
