Donna Alice (Nash) Cardwell

Donna Alice Nash Cardwell, age 81, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Oct. 25, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.  She was born in Love, KY, on May 13, 1943. She was a 1961 graduate of Butler County High School and a 1973 graduate of the Bowling Green Business College.   She retired from First Citizens Bank where she worked as an account clerk for 33 yrs.  She was a faithful follower of Jesus and a member of Temple View General Baptist Church.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed gardening and quilting and was an admired cook by her family.   Donna was preceded in death by her parents Ailton and Dora (Woosley) Nash; an infant son Ronald Wayne Cardwell; brothers Paul and Silas Nash.

Donna is survived by her husband of 63 years, Everett Cardwell; children Deborah Suter (David), Everett “Buddy” Cardwell Jr. (Laura) and Dana Henninger (Tom); grandchildren Christopher (Jessica), Ashley, Christen, Thomas (Kelly), Collan, Adeline, and Virginia; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Massie Lindsey.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at 9:30 am with the funeral service following at 2 pm at Smith Funeral Home.  Bro. David Lewis and Bro. Frankie Skipworth officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association and The American Cancer Society.
