Evertt Phelps

Evertt Phelps, age 85, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Jetson, Ky. on Jan. 23, 1939.   He was retired from the  Butler Co. Road Dept. and was a member of the Temple View General Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Reedyville Masonic Lodge #438 and a Rizpah Shriner.  He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Pauline Shepard Phelps; son Russell Dale Phelps; grandson Joshua Allen Phelps; daughter-in-law Karen West Phelps; several brothers and sisters.

Evertt is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Dimple Renfrow Phelps; children JD Phelps (Jessica) and Wayne Phelps (Cynthia); grandchildren Susan Barrow (Mark), Brian Phelps, Charity Cox (Kurt), Greg Phelps (Jennifer), Avery Phelps; several great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 at 1:00pm at Temple View General Baptist Church with Bro. Frankie Skipworth officiating.  Burial will follow in the Grant Phelps Cemetery where a Masonic Service will be presented. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Smith Funeral Home and Friday from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Temple View General Baptist Church.
