Obituary
Gwendolyn Penrod, age 86, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. She was born on Oct. 20, 1936 in Morgantown, Ky. to the late Jesse and Irene Smith Penrod. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a retired Foster Grandparent for the Head Start Program and was loved by all. Gwendolyn loved music, singing and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Gerald and Troy Penrod; nephews Paul, Dwight and Little Gerald.
She is survived by her son Lanny Penrod of Morgantown, Ky.; granddaughter Haley Penrod of Bowling Green, Ky.; grandson Matthew Penrod of Morgantown, Ky.; niece Karen Penrod Broyles and nephews Jamie Penrod and Keith Penrod.
Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 12pm with Bro. Paul Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30 from 4pm until 8pm and Saturday from 10am until 12pm at Smith Funeral Home.
