James Chapman Obituary

James Horace Chapman, 93, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Medical Center.  He was born in Warren Co., Ky. on November 16, 1926 to the late Arthur Blaine and Maude Cardwell Chapman.  Horace attended Shiloh Church and was a WWII Army Veteran.  He worked at Kentucky Stone in Russellville and was a Farmer.  He loved driving his John Deere Tractor on his farm, raising cattle and hogs.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son Byron Lee Chapman; brother Leon Chapman.

 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Sidney Hatcher Chapman; special pest Donna Claypool (Roy); special friend Tommy Brown; special niece Judy Hope (Harlan) and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 11 at 2pm at Lee Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Hatcher officiating.  Military Honors will be presented by the Ohio County Honor Guard.  Visitation will begin on Thursday from 1-2pm at the Lee Cemetery.  Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
