JoAnn (Keown) Carter

JoAnn Keown Carter, 77, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away at her residence on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.  JoAnn was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Oct. 25, 1942 to the late Luchen and Mable Hawks Keown.   She was a Homemaker, cleaned houses, former employee at the Farmboy Restaurant and was a farmhand for Dud Elder for 20 years.  She is preceded in death by her parents; son Timothy Carter; grandson Jacob Hampton; brothers Jimmy and Edward Keown Sr.; sisters Glendale Keown, Nokie Pearl West, Dorothy Pendley, Norma Jean Butler and Lois Bratcher.

She is survived by her children Donald Carter Jr., Julie Hampton (Kevin) and Bo West (Meredith); grandchildren Alisha Holland (Jonathan), Christian  and Samantha Carter; great grandchildren Isaiah, Alivia Jo and RyLee Mae Holland and Kipton and Keestyn Carter; siblings Luchen Keown Jr. (Judy), Delah Luttrell and Larry D. Keown; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Sept., 27 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Holland officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fannie Rone Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 9:30am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
