Joe Robert Phelps

Joe Robert Phelps, age 78, of Morgantown, KY, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.  He was born in Warren Co., KY on Feb. 7, 1947.  He was a Veteran of the United States Marines and United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Ruby King Phelps; two sisters Lillian and Laverne.

Joe is survived by wife of 32 years, Cathy Townsend Phelps; one son Kevin Phelps (Julie); one daughter Kristy Daugherty (Ricky); step-sons Travis Duckwall (Ali) and Timothy Duckwall (Carol); grandchildren Chandler Phelps, Maggie Phelps, Kristopher Daugherty, Alex Daugherty; step-grandchildren Christiana Kaster (James), Shaun Duckwall, Austin Duckwall, Peyton Duckwall, Gunnar Duckwall, Gage Duckwall and Cannon Duckwall; one brother Willard Phelps Jr.; several extended family members.

A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date with family. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
