Kandy Kaye (Newkirk) Embry

Kandy Kaye Embry, age 60, of Morgantown, KY passed away, June 24, 2023.  She was born in Wooster, OH on Aug. 19, 1962 to the late Rex Garfield Newkirk and Wilma Jean Carathers Durham.  She loved UK basketball and was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Danny McCaslin; sisters, Jean Lundy & Tina Durham.

She leaves behind a husband James D. Armes of Morgantown; children, Mistucka Neighbors (Brad) of Morgantown, Bryan Phelps of Rockfield, Ronnie Embry, Jr., of Woodbury, Jane Hammers (Michael) of Rochester; grandchildren, Tristan Coots, Amber Moore (Benjamin), Kaitlyn Coots, Corey Cardwell, Abigail and Klay Hammers; great- grandchild, Castiel Coots, all of Morgantown; and sisters, Joyce Bachelor of Morgantown and Crystal Phelps (Michael) of Bowling Green.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm at Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks to contribute to funeral expenses.
