Katherine Carol (Kathy) Thomas

Katherine “Kathy” Carol Cardwell Thomas, 70, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away at the Hopkins Center in Woodburn, Ky. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020.  Kathy was born in Brownsville, Ky. on November 7, 1949 to the late Carl D. Cardwell and Helen Smith Thornburg.  She was a waitress at Ryan's Steakhouse, loved antiques and was a fan of Marilyn Monroe.  Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; son Brian Lang and a grandson.

She is survived by her son Richard Lang of Bowling Green; daughter Mary Beth Clear of Washington, D.C.; several grandchildren; brothers James Cardwell (Kathy) of Bowling Green and Steve Cardwell (Shirley) of Bowling Green; sister Teresa Woosley of Morgantown; half brothers Bill Thornburg of Marion and Carl Cardwell Jr. of Indianapolis; aunt Louise Betts of Louisville; several uncles, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be at 1pm Thursday, September 17, at Threlkel Cemetery with Daniel Webster officiating.  Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
