Martha Jane (Embry) Garner

Martha Jane Embry Garner, age 76, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Dec. 31, 1946 to the late Lucian and Lorine Turner Embry.  She was a homemaker and worked many years for Kane’s Manufacturing and retired from Kellwood.  Martha enjoyed drinking coffee and working crossword puzzles.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lonnie Wayne Garner; daughter Lillie Garner Smith; son Freddie Gidcumb; brothers Pete Embry, Jessie Embry and Charles “Chuck” Embry; sisters Dinky Bratcher and Midge Shepherd; companion Steve Phelps; sons-in-law Anthony Ray Huff Sr. and Johnny Smith.

Martha is survived by her daughter Laura Howlett (Eddie); 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers Essie Lee Embry (Joyce) and Vester Embry (Sue); sister Pam Hudson (David); many nieces and nephews; fur baby Waylon.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Allen officiating.  Burial will be held in the Newton Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12 from 9am – 2pm at Smith Funeral Home.
