Monical Davis Obituary

Monical Ann Hankins Davis passed away on November 23, 2020, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born on September 25, 1938, in Dunbar, Kentucky, the first child of RW and Opal Hankins.

Monical graduated from Butler County High School in 1956. She married Larry Panel Davis in 1959. The couple have three children, Byra Meredith, Teryl Manning, and Jeremy Davis.

She enjoyed many occupations throughout her life such as Dental Assistant for Dr. Corbin, Secretary for Coleman Sailing Houseboats, Coleman Homes and E&C Coal Company. She was also a Clerk in the Butler County Circuit Clerk’s Office, and Bookkeeper in the Data Center at Morgantown Bank & Trust.

Monical was a proud long-standing member of First Baptist Church in Morgantown, Kentucky. She enjoyed participating in Clara Lee Circle, First Baptist Church Choir and the Hand Bell Choir. Larry and Monical also devoted many years as teachers of the four and five year old Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

Monical’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Monical is predeceased by her parents, and her beloved father and mother-in-law, Juett and Ruby Davis.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Larry Davis. Her children, Byra Meredith (Arthur) of Morgantown, Teryl Manning (Steve) of Bowling Green, and Jeremy Davis (Jennifer) of Morgantown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kyle Meredith, Haley Embry (Coty), Taylor Manning, Morgan Wilson (Justin), Kathryn Manning, Carson Davis and Carley Davis. Monical is also survived by her great-grandchildren Everleigh Meredith, Grady Embry and Henleigh Meredith and her brother Roger Hankins (Rita) of Bowling Green.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions there will be no visitation. A private memorial celebration is planned for immediate family only with Bro. Greg Wallace officiating.  A private burial will be held at Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Monical’s honor may be made to First Baptist Church Morgantown Fellowship Hall Fund, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering or Gideons International Bibles.
