Neal Ray Kirby, 70, of Quality, Ky. passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He was born in Butler Co. on January 17, 1949 to the late J.W. Kirby and Gertie White Kirby. Neal was of the Missionary Baptist Faith. He worked in the Coal Mines for 35 years and in road construction. Neal loved to spend time with his children, go on trips with his family and enjoyed watching westerns. He is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Dean Kirby and Joyce Kirby.
Neal is survived by wife of 51 years, Betty Mitchell Kirby; one son David Neal Kirby (Cecilia); one daughter Rae Anna Kirby (Mike); grandsons Bowen Kirby, Michael Elmore, Alex Elmore and Caden Cardwell; granddaughter Jennifer McLean; great grandchildren Sadie McCall, Madison McCall, J.Arys Honshell, Allie Honshell; brother Gerald Kirby (Shelia); sisters Reva Nell Payne, Martha Rosser, Mary Dockery (Argin); mother in law Ona Mitchell; host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 1pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Raleigh Blancett officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday from 4pm until 8pm and Thursday 8am until time of service.
