Rhea Lavone Embry Phelps, age 85, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. She was born on May 3, 1937 in Butler Co., KY to the late Jesse and Lula Belle Mudd Embry. Lavone was a homemaker and attended Belmont General Baptist Church. She loved painting, decorating, music and dance. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald Phelps; brother Bill Embry and sister Joyce Edwards.
Lavone is survived by her children Donald Brente Phelps (Alicia) of Morgantown, Timothy Wayne Phelps (Margaret) of Morgantown and Julia Ranee’ Phelps-Tucker (Timothy) of Bowling Green; grandchildren Jessica Darst of Glendale, Ky., Jillian Champion (Clay) of Louisville, Lora Danielle Phelps of Morgantown, David Adam Phelps (Jennifer) of Louisville, Shelley Ann Coats (Tyler) of Dunedin, Fl., Jessilyn Laitney Huguenot Hack (Jeremy) of Morgantown, Jackson Christopher Holman of Bowling Green, Dustin Huguenot of Roundhill, Jeremy Huguenot of Morgantown, Lynsey Moore (Dustin) of Nacogdoches, Tx., Christopher West (Becky) of Morgantown and Larry Dale West (Tiffany) of Louisville; 10 Great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; brothers Robert Embry (Dolly) of Hudson, Fl. and Jody Embry (Debbie) of Caneyville; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Taylor officiating. Burial will be held in the Chapel Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 4pm until 8pm and Wednesday from 8am until 2pm at Smith Funeral Home.
