Robert Deweese Obituary

The 2013 red mustang convertible slowly rolled to a halt on February 27, 2020.  If you have traveled the roads of Butler County or the Natcher Parkway between Bowling Green and Hartford, Ky. in the past six years, you have probably yelled out a few words about wanting that driver to speed up, go on, get out of the way or get off of the road!  One thing for sure, you were never followed too closely.  If you are under age sixty-five, you may have affectionately been called Yardape, at some age in your life, by the driver of that dreaded slow moving Mustang.

Robert Clifton (Bobby) Deweese, age 75, of Morgantown passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Morgantown Care and Rehab after suffering many years from neuropathy in his feet and legs.  Bobby was born on May 20, 1944 to the late Corbie M. and Minnie (Wilson) Deweese of Butler County, Kentucky.  Bobby was a retired self employed contractor (B&D Construction) at TVA's Paradise Steam Plant, Muhlenberg County, KY.  In his younger years, he worked along side his father in construction of Western KY Parkway then later became the "tire-man" at Coleman Motors for over twenty years.  If you knew Bobby, you know he was honest, loyal, trustworthy, a work driven man who loved and provided for his family, fished, hunted and made the "best" homemade sausage and kept the fire going on the river bank for delicious chicken, pork ribs, and vegetables for anyone stopping by.

If you were around him long enough, he had a nickname for you.  He may not have remembered your given or surname but he didn't forget your nickname.  Example:  Toby; Sampson, Big Buck and Little Buck; Big ape, Mort, Harrison Decker, Barney and so many more.  Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Corbie Deweese, Jr, Kenneth and Rollie Deweese and sisters Dorene Duskey and Doris Coleman; and his dear friends and in laws Royce "Chick" and Arrah Wanna (Pendley) Evans.

Bobby leaves behind his loving wife of forty years Linda (Evans) Deweese; his YardApes of forty years Duane and Darrin Evans; Daughter-in-Law Abby Evans; grandchildren Paul M. Evans, James Royce Evans, Makaya Evans and Kristian Evans; great grandsons Logan Evans and Baby boy Evans (due any day); sister Ruth Daugherty; brothers Edward "Ed" and Danny (LoRei) Deweese; sister-in-law Donna Deweese; several nieces, nephews; great nieces, nephews; and his special great-great nephew, moon pie eating and apple buddy, Wick Hall; Special friends Bill Sweatt, Roger Miller and LC Cosby, "Little" Joe Alford, plus a multitude of others.
