Vernita Rose Lee Ingram, age 96, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025 at the Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab. She was born in the Flatwoods Community of Butler Co., KY on September 19, 1928 to Roscoe and Rosa Woosley Lee. Vernita was always busy. She enjoyed working outside in her garden, canning, working puzzles and doing needle work. She was a wonderful cook and studied her bible daily. She was the greatest granny to her grandchildren and grand dogs (Larry & Ace). She cherished her friends and neighbors, wanting everyone to feel welcome in her home. Vernita had daily coffee with her best friend Cilicia Burden for 58 years. Vernita also loved to travel with Paul and above all her main goal was to live a Christian life. She was preceded in death by her parents Roscoe and Rosa Woosley Lee; husband Paul Ingram; infant daughter Kathy Jo Ingram; grandson Seth Drake; sisters Marjorie Lee, Ruth Embry, Emma Lou Britt and Delorse Glenn; brothers Gerthen, Basil, Kenneth and T.J.
Vernita is survived by her children Judy Ingram, Aimee Sanders (Chris) and Dennis Ingram (and family); grandchildren John Drake, Molly Bratcher (Peyton), Hallie Campbell (Brayden); great grandson Aiden Bratcher and one due in November; sister Imogene “Pat” Porter; sister-in-law Betty Orton and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 3:00pm Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Kelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill Haven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 9:00am until 3:00pm at Smith Funeral Home.
