Virginia Fay Gardner Ward passed away on January 12, 2021 in Evansville, In. She was born in Morgantown, KY on January 23, 1927 to the late Aaron and Pearl Dukes Gardner. She was a machine operator for Shanes and GE. She was a member of Cool Springs General Baptist Church, Morgantown, Ky. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband Thurston Ward; two sisters Jewel Gardner and Margie Finch; four brothers Tom, Harold, Glen and Jimmy Gardner and son-in-law Mike Kitchens.
Virginia is survived by four daughters Brenda Harris (Marion), Phyllis Hendricks (Tom), Donna Kitchens and Toni Ellis all of Evansville, In.;
8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; four sisters Edith Wells of Evansville, In., Sarah Gardner of Evansville, In., Sue Hooper of Franklin, Ky. and Doris Martin of Morgantown, Ky.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at 1pm CST at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Frankie Skipworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Cook Cemetery, Morgantown. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 10am CST until time of service.
