Virginia "Granny" Nell (Turner) Smith

Virginia Nell Turner Smith “Granny”, age 80, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 25, 2023 at her residence.  She was born on May 22, 1943 in Golden Pond, KY.  She attended Temple View Church, was a homemaker and a long-time employee of Kuntry Kitchen.  Granny enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids.  She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Mathel Lofton Turner; husband Arlie “Beaver” Smith; son Randy Hamlet; several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children David Hamlet, Ronda Taylor (Wally) and Belinda Meador (Caroll); grandchildren David Earl Hamlet, Amanda Wilson, Randa Cameron, Rachael Cameron, Sarah Lewis, Cody Lloyd, David Walling and Cameron Carroll; several great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister Inez Haynes (Vernon); several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023 at 1:00pm with Bro. David Lewis and Bro. Raleigh Blancett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rochester Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27 from 10:00am until 1:00pm at Smith Funeral Home.
