William "Bill" Henry Sweatt
Obituary
William "Bill" Henry Sweatt, age 75, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on February 20, 1948. Bill was of the Church of Christ faith. A lifetime member of the VFW Granville Allen Post 5837 and an Army Veteran having served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. Bill was a Funeral Director and Embalmer for over 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Vonia Cain Sweatt; daughter Myra Ashley Sweatt; one brother and seven sisters.
Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Loretta Burden Sweatt; stepson Gregory Scott Embry (Melissa) of Morgantown; step-grandsons Dustin Wester (Marsha) of Morgantown and Heath West (Myranda) of Morgantown; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 at 11am at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. TJ Howard officiating. Burial will be held in the Hill Haven Memory Garden. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 17 from 4pm until 8pm and Friday, Aug. 18 from 8:30am until 11am at Smith Funeral Home.
